Scalp Psoriasis

Scalp psoriasis is the same as the psoriasis that would affect any other part of the body. Red lesions are caused by skin cells dividing to rapidly. These lesions are often dry, itchy, and scaly.  The classification of scalp psoriasis ranges from being very mild to being very severe. In extreme cases, excessive flaking from severe scales will cause hair loss. These are our favorite creams or lotions to help with psoriasis.

Unfortunately for those affected by this disease, it is incurable. But there is no need to despair over the physical effects of psoriasis because there are many ways to handle and to live with this disease. Keep in mind that millions of people suffering the same plight, yet most of them do not let this disease keep them from living a happy life.

It is important to keep a positive outlook. In some cases, scalp psoriasis has been known to clear out on its own. Seek advice from a physician. He will recommend several treatments to help combat scalp psoriasis.  Application of tar and salicylic acid is used for mild cases. For severe cases, the use of ultraviolet lasers has been found to be most effective. Combined with the application of topical medicines to the skin, psoriasis can clear out within a number of UV sessions.

Scalp Psoriasis may be incurable, but it isn’t permanent. If you’re feeling insecure about how you look, covering up might be a good idea. But it’s a better idea to just go out and get some sunlight to help your skin.
